Participation in the European Researchers’ Night 2021

Ricardo Silini, PhD member of the group will participate in this year's edition of the European Researchers’ Night.

The European Researchers’ Night, funded under the Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions (MSCA), is a Europe-wide public event, which displays the diversity of science and its impact on citizens' daily lives in fun, inspiring ways.

Ricardo will be talking about the exploration of the forecast of weather phenomena using artificial intelligence. Many mechanisms governing weather and climate remain unknown, although we have been taking data and statistics for centuries. For example, tropical monsoons or the “el Niño” phenomenon have been going on for thousands of years, but it wasn’t until the 1970s that a relationship between them was discovered. Today, we use AI techniques to discover these connections and predict phenomena.
